Directions

Feza Gürsey Physics and Mathematics Research Center is in Boğaziçi University Kandilli Campus. This campus is located in the Kandilli district of Üsküdar on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Summer schools and seminars are held in the Feza Gürsey classroom in the Science and Technology (BTK) building, which is approximately 5 minutes away from the Feza Gürsey building. You can see the relevant part of the campus map from the figure below.

The main entrance of the Kandili campus is marked with yellow (above). This gate is used when arriving by bus or minibus. It takes around 5 minutes to walk to the Feza Gursey building. The other entrance is marked with green and is reachable only by car. Talks will take place in the “Bilim ve Teknoloji” building marked with a red asterisk (*).
 

How to go?

Kandilli Campus is reachable by public transportation most easily from Kadikoy (bus line 14R: Kadikoy-Rasathane) and Uskudar (bus line 15R:Uskudar-Rasathane). The bus stops are close to the respective ferry stations. The trip takes around 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic. You have to get off at the stop: “Yalnız Selvi Caddesi”. From Uskudar there are also Talimhane-Rasathane minibuses (called “dolmuş” in Turkish) that depart in front of the ferry station.

From the main Campus of Bogazici University, you may take the Asiyan-Anadolu Hisari-Kucuksu ferry from the Asiyan ferry stop. It is located very close to the Bebek gate of Bogazici University. You should get off at “Anadolu Hisari” which is the first stop. The trip takes about 10 minutes. From Anadolu Hisari you reach Kandilli Campus after a short taxi ride. The taxi stop is next to the ferry station. Most taxi drivers will understand the destination more easily if you tell them “Kandilli Rasathanesi (Observatory)”.

Alternatively, you may take the bus 14R (in the Kadıkoy direction) from the "Bogazici Universitesi Anadolu Kampusu" bus stop, which is in 6 minutes of walking distance to the ferry station. You should get off at “Yalnız Selvi Caddesi”.

There are ring shuttles and İETT between Kandilli Campus and South Campus (the main campus) of Boğaziçi University.
